Join Us! An Empathy Twitter Chat THIS Monday
Gather 'round Twitter for a virtual fireside chat about empathy on June 11.
We don't just want to tell you what we're thinking and discovering about empathy. We want to hear from you. We also want you to talk to each other. That's why we're hosting a live Twitter chat this coming Monday in conjunction with our close partners Ashoka Changemakers. Since we can't all get together in one room to have the conversation, we'll take the next best thing: a real-time conversation in the Twittersphere. We'll be tweeting from 3pm-5pm EST.
Not familiar with Twitter chats? No problem. Changemakers has laid out the process step-by-step for you:
Joining the conversation is easy.
Log-in to Twitter at 3 p.m. ET on Monday, June 11.
Use the #SocEntChat hashtag to make your comments visible in the stream. Use search.twitter.com or an application like TweetDeck or thwirl to follow the #SocEntChat hashtag and keep up with the conversation.
Introduce yourself and take a minute to get to know the other chatters when you join.
Send your questions to @changemakers without the hashtag (to keep them out of the stream) so they can be considered for this conversation.
Please remember to use the #SocEntChat hashtag, stay on topic, be respectful, and have fun!
And be sure to invite your friends and followers to join the discussion, too; the best way is to post a tweet like this one:
#StartEmpathy with @changemakers on June 11 from 3-5pm ET. Spread the word and save the date! #SocEntChat
Hope to see you there!
A Note About the Hashtag: Why the #SocEntChat hashtag? SocEnt is Twitter shorthand for social entrepreneur. Changemakers, which crowdsources innovative ideas from around the web and around the world, is an online platform geared toward social entrepreneurs. Changemakers frequently holds chats on a wide range of topics that are relevant to social entrepreneurs, and the #SocEnt hashtag is near and dear to them.Because of the recent Activating Empathy competition we hosted with Changemakers, this week's #SocEntChat is on the topic of empathy.
